PETOSKEY — Following her appointment late last year as Emmet County clerk, Suzanne Kanine recently filed to seek election for a full four-year term in the position.
Kanine, 35, filed her paperwork Monday to appear on the Republican ballot for August’s primary election. She has worked at the clerk’s office since March 2015 and was appointed to the position of clerk in December 2019. 57th Circuit Court Judge Charles Johnson appointed Kanine to the position four months after former clerk Juli Wallin left the role in August.
