MEET SUZANNE
Committed to our Community
Suzanne Kanine’s dedication to service, family, country, and community is rooted in her Christian faith and upbringing. After graduating high school from Michigan Lutheran Seminary, she joined the Air Force National Guard. In serving her Country, she deployed overseas on multiple occasions, most notably with Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004. Suzanne was presented with several awards for outstanding service during her 16-year military career, including the Air Force Achievement Medal, and was a finalist for Airman of the Year.
Upon returning home from Operation Iraqi Freedom, Suzanne enrolled at Central Michigan University, where she received her Bachelor’s of Applied Arts. Suzanne and her husband, Jacob, met at CMU and were married in 2008. They currently live in Petoskey with their three children. Two children attend Petoskey Middle School and one attends St. Francis Xavier School.
Instilling that same drive for service to others into their children, the entire Kanine family is actively involved in the community through sports, service organizations and church. Suzanne, and her family, are active members of St. Francis Xavier Parish.
