MEET SUZANNE KANINE
I’m proud to announce my candidacy for re-election as your Emmet County Clerk. After four years of dedicated service, I am eager to continue to serve the citizens of Emmet County.
With the help of the dedicated county clerk staff, I have launched an on-line vital records ordering system. Customers can obtain records without ever coming into the office.
We are now digitizing records for improved and efficient service.
I collaborated with local clerks, county administration, and community partners to implement early voting in Emmet County.
In addition to my service as the County Clerk, I act as secretary on the Northern Community Mediation Board, am a member of Sunrise Rotary, and have coached girls youth basketball and softball.
I look forward to continuing to improve the service of the County Clerk’s office for the next four years and beyond.
Your vote will be vitally important in the August Republican primary election and November general election.

Kanine to run for first full term as Emmet County clerk
PETOSKEY — Following her appointment late last year as Emmet County clerk, Suzanne Kanine recently filed to seek election for a full four-year term in the position.
Kanine, 35, filed her paperwork Monday to appear on the Republican ballot for August’s primary election. She has worked at the clerk’s office since March 2015 and was appointed to the position of clerk in December 2019. 57th Circuit Court Judge Charles Johnson appointed Kanine to the position four months after former clerk Juli Wallin left the role in August. Kanine to serve as new Emmet County Clerk
PETOSKEY — Suzanne R. Kanine will fill the long-vacant position of Emmet County Clerk.
In an Emmet County press release issued Friday, 57th Circuit Court Judge Charles W. Johnson announced that he has appointed Kanine, who has worked for the department since March 2015, to fill the spot. Former clerk Juli Wallin left the position unexpectedly in August. READ MORE
